Born to Shine Foundation
The Born to Shine Foundation Kenya, established in January 2019, is committed to providing children from disadvantaged backgrounds and orphans in various children’s homes with the chance to uncover and nurture their hidden talents and abilities. By offering these children opportunities to step beyond their everyday environments and engage in new activities, the foundation aims to open doors to experiences they might not otherwise have access to.
The foundation’s core mission is to help these children build their self-esteem, confidence, and belief in their potential. Through exposure to activities such as mountain climbing, golf, and swimming, the foundation provides opportunities for growth that go far beyond traditional education. These experiences help the children develop a sense of accomplishment, proving that they are just as capable as any other child—what they lack is simply access to opportunity.
In addition to these life-changing activities, the foundation also provides a 100% academic sponsorship to a select number of children from disadvantaged backgrounds to attend Diamond Junior School. This sponsorship allows the children to access a high-quality education in an environment that nurtures their academic and personal growth. The children not only benefit from a solid education but also have access to a wide range of extracurricular activities, such as sports, music, and arts, which further contribute to their development and self-confidence. These activities provide them with opportunities to explore their interests and talents outside the classroom, helping them grow into well-rounded individuals.
Through its holistic approach, the Born to Shine Foundation seeks to break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage by equipping children with the tools they need to succeed. By empowering them with education, new experiences, and the belief that they can achieve anything they set their minds to, the foundation aims to help these children rise above the limitations of their circumstances and reach their full potential, creating a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
