Our education program encompasses character & moral development, Religious Education, personal development, social development and cultural developments.

DJS was founded in 2009 with a commitment to equip & inspire each child to achieve their full God-given potential. We celebrated 16 years of Inspiring Excellence in January 2025.

We use the Kenyan curriculum system – the Competency based curriculum. Please read more on the competencies here.
In Kindergarten, we have integrated both the Kenyan System and the Montessori curriculum to provide rich experiences for the children and best practices from both worlds.

Our Academic year runs from January to December. It is a requirement that children must have turned the requisite age for joining a class in January by 31st December in the previous year. Exceptions MAY be granted to those born between January – March.

DJS is a fully-fledged Kindergarten, Primary and Junior School with classes from KG1 (2 year olds) to Grade 9

Our youngest class are the Little Gems who join when they are 2 years old.

Yes, we do offer computer lessons for all our students as part of their classes and in addition to this, the 5+ year olds are also introduced to the basics of Robotics and Coding and Lego Education which advances as they move to the upper classes.

Yes, the children in this play group are normally toilet trained and the progress is highly dependent on the support at home.

As a values-based school, we endeavor to inculcate values in our children. One of our Key Pillars is – Character – and we aim to cultivate positive character in our children in order to raise responsible members of the society.
The children discuss with their class teachers in the classroom of their expected behavior throughout the term

We also resort to positive reward methods such as recognition in class and during assembly and awarding of points for positive behavior.

There are instances where we withdraw privileges, such as play time.

We do not allow corporal punishment instead we use other modes of correction such as boundary based discipline and behavior modification among others, that will enable us to get to the root cause of the issue, assist the child to properly express themselves and at the same time letting them know that what they have done or said was not right.

School starts at 8:00am and ends at 3:30pm. KG 1 & KG2 classes have the option of leaving at 12:p.m. (half day).

Yes, we provide balanced and nutritious meals for break time and lunch.

Food from home is not permitted unless the child is on a special diet and/or on medical grounds.

Diamond Junior School is not affiliated to any specific Church, nevertheless it is a Christian school that upholds Christian values and is keen in instilling these values in each child.

Our school provides safe, reliable, and well-coordinated transport services for all learners. With designated routes, trained drivers, and strict safety protocols, we ensure students arrive at school and return home comfortably and on time.

Parents receive timely updates, and our fleet is regularly maintained to guarantee a smooth and secure journey every day.

Currently the farthest locations our transport services go include the following areas: Syokimau, Mbagathi way, Langata, Buruburu, Westlands, Athi River, Imara Daima and Embakasi.

Our pick-up & drop off hours are dependent on how far one resides and the general traffic flow of the area.

Yes, all our vehicles are accompanied by an onboard assistant while picking and dropping the children at all times.

Our Sports Department is dedicated to nurturing the physical, mental, and social development of every learner through a wide range of structured sporting activities.

We provide a well-equipped sports environment with qualified coaches who guide students in developing essential skills such as teamwork, discipline, resilience, and leadership. Our school offers diverse sports including Football, Basketball, Athletics, Swimming, Taekwondo, Pickleball tennis  and other age-appropriate activities that promote health and fitness.

Through regular training, inter-school competitions, and inclusive programs for all ability levels, we strive to inspire excellence, build confidence, and encourage a lifelong love for sports and healthy living.

Diamond Junior School does participate in inter-school competitions to challenge ourselves in as many disciplines and activities as possible.

All classes have a P.E lesson once a week whereby our coach takes them through age appropriate physical activities. Games are held every Friday. All children must be dressed in their full P.E/Games kit during these lessons.

Yes, we do, we have Inter-House Sports and Swimming competitions held during different terms. Every child is allocated a House upon joining the school.
